Contract Administration

Contract Administration is usually undertaken on larger works and the contract administrator may assume the role from production of technical drawings (RIBA Stage of Work 4) and manufacture/ construction (RIBA Stage of Work 5) through to handover and into the defects period following completion.

Explanation

Our Role

The principal roles of the contract administrator are as follows:

 

  • Co-ordination of consultant’s and contractor(s) for the works.
  • Chairing of meetings at/ during pre-contract, pre-start, construction, handover and defects stages.
  • Preparation of agendas and minutes for above meetings.
  • Preparation of site reports following construction stage meetings.
  • Issue of payment certificates, completion certificates, instructions and other administration forms as required under the contract.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of functions provided and some may be removed or added as per the project and client’s requirements. R.A. Grundy Architectural Services can provide more information on services offered and advice on those which would fit the project scope most appropriately.
